Sheets Backup Admin is a Chrome Extension that helps you create backups of your Google Sheets. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data (spoiler: we don't).

2. Data Collection

We do NOT collect any personal data.

No analytics or tracking
No user behavior monitoring
No data sent to external servers
No cookies or fingerprinting

3. Data Storage

All your data stays in YOUR Google Drive:

Your backup registry table is created in YOUR Google Drive
Your backup files are stored in YOUR Google Drive
We do NOT have access to your files
We do NOT store copies of your data

4. Permissions Explained

This extension requires the following permissions:

identity: For Google OAuth 2.0 authorization (secure login)
storage: To save your settings locally in Chrome (registry ID, preferences)
sidePanel: To display the backup management interface
contextMenus: To add right-click menu for quick access
drive.file: To create backup files in YOUR Google Drive
spreadsheets: To read your Google Sheets content for backup

5. How It Works

The extension architecture:

You authorize the extension via Google OAuth
Extension scans YOUR Google Drive for spreadsheets
You select which files to backup
Extension creates backup copies in YOUR Google Drive
All data remains in YOUR possession

6. Google Apps Script

This extension uses Google Apps Script (Google's own service) to perform backup operations. The script:

Runs under YOUR Google account context
Only accesses files YOU authorize
Does NOT store or transmit data elsewhere
Is operated by the extension developer for all users

7. Data Security

OAuth 2.0 secure authorization
All operations performed via Google's official APIs
No third-party data sharing
No unencrypted data transmission
Content Security Policy (CSP) compliant

8. User Control

You have full control over your data:

You can revoke extension access anytime via Google Account settings
You can delete the registry table from your Drive
You can delete backup files from your Drive
Uninstalling the extension removes all local settings

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
